Seven Articles of Faith

Faith: 'Faith refers to a firm belief'

Seven Articles of Faith:
  1. Belief in Allah
  2. Belief in Angels
  3. Belief in the Holy Books
  4. Belief in the Messengers
  5. Belief in the Day of Judgement
  6. Belief in Divine Destiny
  7. Belief in Life after Death
Justification of the Seven Articles of Faith in the Holy Quran

1. Belief in Allah:

In the Holy Quran, Almighty Allah mentions the reason of the creation of humankind:

“I created the jinn and the mankind only that they might worship Me. I seek no livelihood from them, nor do I ask that they should feed Me. Surely Allah! He is the One Who gives livelihood, the Lord of wielding sturdy strength.”
(Surah Az-Zariyat 51, verse no. 56-58)

“O mankind! Worship your Lord Who has created you and those before you, so that you may ward off (evil). Who has made the earth a resting –place for you, and the sky a canopy; and causes water to pour down from the sky, thereby producing fruits as food for you. And do not set up rivals to Allah when you know (better).”

(Surah Al-Baqarah 2, verse no. 21-22)

2. Belief in Angels:

Angels are beings that follow the commands of Allah Almighty.
“And they say: The Beneficent has taken Himself a son. Be He Glorified! No, but (those whom they call sons) are honored slaves.”
(Surah Al-Anbiya 21, verse no. 26)

3. Belief in the Holy Books:

About all four Holy Books:
“Mankind were one community, and Allah sent (to them) Prophets as bearers of good tidings and as warners, and revealed therewith the Scriptures with the truth that it might judge between mankind cocerning that wherein thay differed.”
(Surah Al-Baqarah 2, verse no. 213)

About the Holy Quran:

“And this is a blessed Scripture which We have revealed. So follow it and ward off (evil), that you may find mercy.”
(Surah Al-An'am 6, verse no. 155)

4. Belief in the Messengers:

“And We have raised in every nation a messenger, (proclaimimg): Serve Allah and shun false gods.”

(Surah An-Nahl 16, verse no. 36)

About the final Prophet Muhammad (PBUH):

“Muhammad is not the father of any man among you but he is the messenger of Allah and the Seal of the Prophets; and Allah is aware of all things.”

(Surah Al-Ahzab 33, verse no. 40)

5. Belief in the Day of Judgement:

All human beings, Muslims and non-Muslims, will be brought back to Allah to face the Judgement Day. They will achieve Paradise or Hell according to their deeds in the worldly life.

“Warn them (O Muhammad) of the Day of the approaching (doom), when the hearts will be choking the throats, (when) there will be no friend for the wrong-doers, nor any intercessor who will be heard.”

(Surah Al-Ghafir 40, verse no. 18)

6. Belief in the Divine Destiny:

Allah has everything in knowledge.

“Allah it is Who has created seven heavens, and of the earth the like thereof a similar number. The commandment comes down among them, that you may know that Allah is Able to do all things, and that Allah surrounds all things in knowledge.”

(Surah At-Talaq 65, verse no. 12)

Allah has everything in record, all that has happened and all that will happen.

“Do you know that Allah knows all that is in the heaven and the earth? It is in a record. Indeed that is easy for Allah.”

(Surah Al-Hajj 22, verse no. 70)

Whatever happens is due to the will of Allah Almighty.

“But His Command, when He determines upon some matter is only that He says to it: Be! And it is.”

(Surah Yasin 36, verse no. 82)

Allah is alone Creator and Guardian of the entire universe.

“Allah is the Creator of all things, and He is Guardian over all things.”

(Surah Az-Zumar 39, verse no. 62)

7. Belief in Life after Death:

After the resurrection, all human beings will achieve either Paradise or Hell and will live there forever, a never ending life.

“Therefore glory be to Him in Whose hand is the dominion over all things! To Him you will be brought back.”

(Surah Yasin 36, verse no. 83)
